Like the Highwayman of Alfred Noyes' classic, Joshua Daniels comes riding, riding, riding into his third consecutive season with Poetry Alive! Having first joined the company in 2010 alongside his wife, Valerie Chamness, Joshua is thrilled to be returning to the most fun and rewarding job he has ever known.
Joshua is an Asheville based actor who has appeared in numerous stage musicals and plays, and even the odd independent film. Trained in numerous singing and acting techniques at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City, he is no stranger to touring for the stage; his last touring engagement before Poetry Alive! took him across the country as Beauty's father in the American Family Theatre's "Beauty and the Beast."
Somewhat of a late bloomer in the theatre world, Joshua began acting as a high school freshman, and since then he's been in love with performing on stage. He sees Poetry Alive! as a unique opportunity to use his gifts to promote another passion of his, the art of poetry. He's been known to call himself a "poetry missionary," traveling the country and spreading the good word of poetry to students and teachers everywhere.
"My thanks, as always, to my greatest audience member and leading lady, my darling wife Valerie. Audience is all well and good, but without you at the end of the day, I would have nothing."
